How is the uptick in people doing their own home improvement projects affecting your workload this summer?

Since people are spending more time at home due to the pandemic, are they trying to complete their summer home improvement projects without professional help? Are you experiencing any slowdowns in business?

While many people are doing their own improvements, the kitchen is an area most are afraid to tackle themselves. My business has increased this year, after an initial downturn in March.

Good question. I originally thought we were going to go through a work drought, but exactly the opposite happened. We are busier than ever! Feel very blessed.

We are roughly 95% commercial landscape maintenance and we are busier than ever.

No slow down, More work than ever

Our business is regulated by need.  Showers, tub to shower conversions, is for anyone who feels showering without limitations, such as climbing over the tub or stepping over a shower edge, is safer for them. It's affordable and updates your bath at the same time.

Hasn't really affected that much. I have gotten more up scaled projects,  which is good.

We are completely booked for this summer and well into the fall if not the 1st of the year.  With the fact that we allow homeowners to tackle parts of their projects themselves, and assist them with the parts they can't we haven't seen any affect to the DIY'ers.   We have had a huge serge in project this spring and summer and I do believe a lot of them came from people being at home more, and realizing some items that needed fixed, enlarged, or improved.

No slowdowns for me business is steady

We have not experienced much slowing of business beyond about 2 weeks in April.  We have seen a slight increase in residential development, but generally those who come to us are less interested in completing the work themselves.

I was worried at first about this also, but it really hasn't effected my projects and the amount of work that i usually take on. Like others have said, its been busier than ever, i just hope its not artificial, as they say, "make hay, while the sun is shining!"
