This Routine Will Rev Up Your Biz

Jul 23rd, 2025

Networking isn’t about collecting contacts—it’s about creating value, building trust, and staying top of mind. The problem? Most small business owners are too busy running their businesses to spend hours networking every day.

That’s why consistency beats intensity. A simple, five-minute daily routine can keep your relationships warm and unlock the referral potential hidden in your network.

Here’s how to do it—and how Alignable 360 makes it effortless.

Your 5-Minute Daily Networking Checklist:

  • Minute 1-2: Engage with your feed—don’t just like posts. Leave thoughtful comments or share insights that add value. This builds goodwill and positions you as a trusted resource.
  • Minute 3: Pick one person to reconnect with. It could be a past client, a partner, or someone you met recently. Send a quick, personalized message—no pitch, just a check-in or a helpful tip.
  • Minute 4: Open Alignable 360 and review suggested introductions. These second-degree connections come with built-in trust, making them your best path to referrals.
  • Minute 5: End by updating notes or setting reminders in Alignable 360 so you never lose track of conversations.

Consistent Touchpoints Are Key

Why does this work?

Because relationships thrive on consistent touchpoints, and five minutes a day is easier to sustain than an hour once a month.

Over time, these micro-actions compound into a powerful network effect, turning casual contacts into trusted referral partners.

Alignable 360 keeps it all organized by giving you a clear view of your connections, who they know, and where the opportunities are.

No More Guesswork

Instead of wondering who to reach out to, you’ll have a prioritized list ready every time you log in.

Think of it as brushing your teeth for your business—it’s small, quick, and prevents bigger problems down the line.

Commit to this five-minute routine for 30 days and see how your network responds. You’ll be surprised how many new opportunities start showing up when you make relationship-building a habit.

Ready to turn connections into referrals without burning hours every week? Open Alignable 360 now and put this routine into action.

Your future self will thank you.

This is such a smart and refreshingly doable approach to networking. The idea that consistency trumps intensity really resonates with me—especially in the whirlwind of small business life, where spare hours are rare and fleeting. I appreciate how you simplify the process into tangible steps without feeling robotic or salesy. It encourages genuine connection while keeping things efficient, which is exactly what most of us need.

The comparison to brushing your teeth is spot on. It’s one of those small habits that’s easy to overlook but compounds over time. I’m definitely intrigued by the potential of this five-minute routine, and I’m keen to see how staying consistently engaged can organically grow my network. Simple, strategic, and sustainable. Love it.

I’ve made similar suggestions on applying a strategy like this on LinkedIn. People get so caught up on creating viral content while forgetting that engaging with other member's content is equally if not more important.

I like this because it doesn't require a lot of time since many of us do everything for our business.  I will start implementing these strategies right away.

Thanks for this reminder for me to get back to practicing what I teach!

I love that it doesn’t have to be this big thing…just 5 minutes a day to stay connected. Definitely inspired to build this into my daily rhythm!

This was very informative and helpful. It is important to be consistent for sure. Thank you for the reminder to be intentional while building those new or old relationships.

Thanks for the remunder. We all do good work but unless we can show it to potential clients, we won't produce revenue.  My business is probably different in that I am a professional artist specializing in portraits.  Generally my "product"  gets marketed by word of mouth.  Like many of you, my best advertisers  are my previous clients. And those are the ones I need to stay in touch with.
