About half of U.S. small businesses haven’t paid their full rent or mortgage yet this month as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, a new survey suggests.

In the poll, conducted on Thursday and Friday by Alignable, a small business social networking company, about 30% of the more than 1,000 respondents reported making no rent or mortgage payment in April, while 20% said they had made only a partial payment.

The remaining half reported paying their entire rent on time. Only a quarter of respondents said their landlord or bank offered a reduction or deferral on what they owed. The survey was of companies with up to 50 employees, including retail, restaurant, auto-repair and other small businesses.

In a very brief comment, it looks like we will have to increase the Government money flow to small (emphasize the word small) businesses best exemplified by restaurants,  but others that really exemplify  "small" businesses, which will mean a devaluation of the dollar.  We are a very large country with many gold deposits - some very large and some very small.  Take off all on the government impediments to mining these deposits which will by their very nature will strengthen the US Dollar, and lets dig our way out of this mess.

Tower Gallery relies totally on artists’ sales at the gallery. The small amount of online sales doesn’t nearly cover the monthly expenses.

Artists cannot cannot continue to pay rent without income from their sales

Governor's or president should have passed a bill or something to protect small business for a few months from evictions and payments especially if the in an area with shelter in place order.

I have applied for CARES and SBA, unemployment and other personal loans and h6nit heard or received anything yet. Very frustrating .

I have not been able to pay my employees any money in the past month. I have been struggling myself trying to make it on my wife's social security. Now even when things get better I don't know if I have people to come back to work or not. I will just always keep faith and trust in the Lord my God.

I have not applied for the CARES Act because I own my Massage Therapy  business, however, I am also an Independent Contractor. Since I don’t have any employees. and don’t have a payroll, I’m not sure if I qualify.

No money coming in for 4 weeks. Can’t pay any bills, mortgage, business and auto insurance. Employees laid off.
