Appreciation from a customer is being humble to accept it. with no pride. Customers will comment on a product which we make and i will always say thank you and ask them if there is an area to improve it, such as different flavour etc. as we scratch bake. customers do suggest different flavors. When asked where did we get the recipes we always give credit to our family history recipes. We also make no charge sample treats flavors to test for our brides and partner. and if there is an allergy in the family such as gluten or nuts etc. we will also offer up to 4 cupcakes to meet their needs at no charge when they order a regular cake so that their guest with the allergy can partake in their celebration. Customers are so appreciative
For me appreciation comes from all avenues of the bakery and means something different in each venue. In retail a customer providing good feedback as well as suggestions for improvement and sometimes just saying "thank you for being here". When a parent dies and the staff takes over with no hesitation. A supplier drops off a new product sample for the staff just because. My husband for supporting me in good times and challenges with the bakery. All are appreciation in one form or another.
The best form of appreciation from our customers happens when they meet us half way by orderering ahead so we can plan and produce what they want to buy.
One example of appreciation beyond expectation occurred after we reached out for fund raising to help us move from our original bakery where we could no longer keep after the area became so crime ridden we considered just closing up. We raised over 5000. In less than a month from our customers.
I like to be appreciated but find that I'm usually not. Over the last 15 years, I've observed that it's not common for folks to do so.
Appreciation for me is about acknowledgement. If I send you a connection that turns into business, I expect you to be grateful for it.
There are many ways someone can do this.
My FAVORITE of course, is to send me money, but I'll settle for a Thank You Note.
I recently learned that a connection I made between 2 folks turned into a huge windfall and I wouldn't have even known about it had I not investigated.
To me appreciation comes in the form of referrals and repeat business. Customers are after all the reason we all have a job in the service industry. It is a great honor to have customers tell others that your work is worth their time and effort (as well as cost). I am very thankful and blessed that my customers love my work as much as I do and let me as well as others know. Not everyone can say they love what they do, luckily, I can. Every kind word, every repeat customer... that is appreciation to me, it allows me to continue to do what I enjoy and know that others enjoy it!
Appreciation comes in all kinds of ways. Customers who give hugs for a wonderful gesture that you did to help them out with making them beautiful and delicious custom cakes, platters full of goodies needed quickly for a special event, or when I can assist with orders that have been randomly cancelled from other vendors. They give me tips, hugs and kisses and rate me highly on social media and give me great reviews. Not only that, they refer me to there friends, family and colleagues for future business. I couldn't survive without these type of customers. I feel sometimes that we are the bakery that takes care of emergencies and my customers love this type of customer service. I also have a great staff that assists quickly with these type of random orders and I appreciate them so much for there hard work and patience through these type of situations. Glad to answer this type of question. Many blessings from YaYa Sweets.
Appreciation for being an owner of a bakery is knowing we provide the best natural home baked item followed up with great customer service.... receiving a call or a review telling us what we did right makes my day .... happy customers , happy employees makes all the difference in the world . We enjoy what we do and in turn our customers appreciate the extra mile we go for them each and everyday .
