What Is the Most Requested Type of Chair for Events?
We have Cross Back and Chiavari Chairs for weddings. Some venues even use regular Plastic folding chairs for concerts and parties. Are people choosing these chairs because they like them or is it a matter of availability with their local rental company?

The regular white or black plastic chairs are by far the most rented chairs in most markets. Primary reason is cost...usually around $1/each to rent.
I spoke with several rental companies throughout the US before starting our company, and they all said the chair below and the black version are their most requested chairs.

Usually they just use the white folding for outdoor ceremonies and something nicer for the reception. Cost plays a big part. If the venue includes the chairs most people just use that. I do work a lot of venues that do not have them included. And in that case the standard people like for a classic, elegant look is Chiavari. Unless they are going for a very different look. The farm table with cross back chairs were popular last year but this year I have noticed either more classic or vintage mismatch. The price for Chiavari rentals have dropped quite a bit in my area. Not sure what they are going for where you are located. They used to be $6-$7 to rent. Now I can get them for about $4.
It depends on the type of event and the budget. We do all off premise catering and many venues have chairs, but they are not always suitable for an upscale event or for all day meetings. I would say that chiavari chairs, which come in several finishes and come with color coordinating cushions, are most requested for social events, but the folding white padded "garden" chairs are second because of their cost effectiveness and clean look.
I would say mainly cost. They are much cheaper to rent than resin chairs or Chivari chairs which most people would prefer.
we don't usually get request for chairs because the venues already have them. I hope this helps.
Kimo, the chairs at the venue's I use are included in the rental cost along with the tables. Usually if the venue doesn't have the type of table the customer needs then we rent, but that doesn't happen often with the venues we use. Hope this helps
Most of the venues I use have their own chairs and most of them use a regular banquet type chair. I don't really have customers requesting a particular type of chair. We use Chiavari and Banquet.
Most couples like chivari chairs but the trend right now is to have a mix of vintage seating and wooden chairs
chiaary chairs are very popular. They're available in several colors... silver and gold seem to be the most common, but the "ghost chair" which is clear is also in high demand.
Hi, We use plastic seat and back with metal frame. I believe they are the most common. There are some other styles available.
