Take Naps!!!! No matter what you have to do during the course of the day, it is beneficial to take a nap. I am no sleep or rest pattern expert, I can only attest to the fact that taking at least one nap a day has helped me function throughout my ENTIRE business career when it comes to everything. I have found that even if I take a 5-minute rest period, I end up at the end of the day, not as tired and worn out as I would have had I not taken one.
There are so many other time management tips out there, but this is just ONE of the most beneficial to me as an entrepreneur. ~ Sonita M. Leak Owner of GreenvilleNotary.com and WeddingsbySonita.com

Time management is really a misnomer. You can't manage time. Neither can you buy it, sell it, store it, save it, loan it, multiply it, change it, manufacture it, rent it. You can only spend it and the way you spend it is accomplishing your tasks. How you schedule your priorities and tasks is how you spend your time.
We never seem to have enough time, yet we have all the time there is.
If you don't use it, it disappears anyway. Thus the quality of your resource depends on how well you use it. Most of us are doing time.
Discover in your heart what you have been called to do and say no to what you have not been called to do.
Besides the art of getting things done, there is the art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.
The best time management tip I have for you guys is planning. Planning is very important to the success of your business. Plan for the necessary things your business may need on a yearly basis, then bring that down to monthly, and weekly. Time management is a management skill of using your time efficiently and effectively throughout your business.
From my own experience running Martin Stream Campground over the last year in a half is that not everything can be done by just you the owner. That isn't efficient for your business. I would suggest finding someone who can help you. If not ask for help, its okay to ask for help because many people are most willingly to help. Schedule your days for yourself to make them easier for you. Don't cram multiple things to do in one day, it will spread you thin as the owner and limit both your productivity and efficiency.
By following these time management tips you as the business owner will become a better and more successful business.
This may sound silly, but if I have numerous jobs or chores that must get done, I choose the most important ones first, and then set a timer for a certain amount of time and get going! I try to "beat the clock" so to speak. I tend to work faster and more efficiently, and it gives an element of fun to tasks that must be done. I also make lists..crossing things off the list gives me a sen se of accomplishment.
Treat your team like you would your family. Always jump in and help them work. They will respect you more and do more for you including watching there time on the clock.
Take 7 days x 24 hrs in each day. That equals 168 hours in the week
168- sleep (8hrs x 7days) = 112 Hours
Minus eating (3x per day x 1 hr each x 7 days)= 21
112-21= 91 hours
Minus Family obligations ( this varies but allow 3 hrs per day)= 21 hrs.
91-21= 70
70 actual hours to get done what needs to get done if you are self employed.
If you are still working for someone is it an 8 hrs per day job? Or are you on the mandatory not paid overtime salary. Because most of those are 50-60 hours per week.
70-40= 30 hrs
With such little time left, It is imperative that you block your time off in 15 min segments.
Get done what absolutely matters most first regardless of how you feel about it. Consider creating a not do list to outsource what you are not good at so you maximize your time.
That's why I work by appointment. There are so many people that want retirement and need to have it properly funded so when that clock 'flips' and you retire and have "all the time in the world" You can actually do the things you want to do.
Being in the restaurant business, I get interrupted often. What works for me is making a list of things that I have to accomplish. I try to arrange them in order of importance. I allocate 2 hours daily and I tell all my employees not to look for me in these two hours. I tackle one item at the time. What I don't finish, gets at the top of the list for the next day. It does not always work but it keeps me on track.
