Death is the only thing that will stop me from working out. My students would have a different answer. They need to be motivated and need to have a goal. With martial arts where belts are awarded, most who receive a black belt will drop out since their goal is reached. To continue with their martial education, they need to have a love for the art and need to have incorporated it into their lifestyle. When we incorporate self-defense, they hopefully see that continuing can save their lives. In the personal training area, I think you need to find out their goals and then help them achieve them. Along the way they should incorporate training into their lives and should understand that the prevention or cure for most all diseases is diet and exercise. If they train to live, there are many perks along the way.
This is pretty much the season where people begin to slack off, and even cancel memberships. They look at the holiday season being right around the corner and choose their well-being as the lowest priority on their totem pole of life. Some people need to look at their fitness program as a high priority because it sustains them and keep them healthy and happy.
Great question! When you have 'so many people' cancelling, my advice is to ask your clients why they are cancelling. Most will give you an honest answer. Once you gather the info you can make a plan based on the feedback. Good luck! :)

I been a trainer for over 30 years and own and operated my studio for the past 15 years ... The main question you need to address is it you or your staff the reason why.? Is it the cost ? Lack of progress/ results ? And there are a few other key factors. So look into what you might have to do to keep and attract more clients
I live out in the country on forty acres of forest and pasture. I ouside doing chores every day of the week am outside unless it pours down rain and even them I am outside feeding animals
The other thing is I avoid gyms as the have high emf from wif and all the cell phone which is not good for you at all. And their lighting is led or fluorescent which messes with your eyes and circadian rhythm
As a health and wellness life coach, I have found people cancel their personal training has a self fulfilling prophecy. They have concerns about being successful in achieving their goals. Understanding the presupposition behind every behavior their is a positive intention for the person helps understand why clients cancel their personal training sessions.
Typically if you manage your time correctly you will always be able to schedule time to work out as most of us don't manage our time correctly and often feel like we will never have time to work out. You just need to create a strong daily schedule including time to workout and schedule your work outs just like you would schedule a meeting. It really boils down to time management. I am lunching a new company and still work full time and now that I schedule and and stick to that schedule you can maximize your time including working out. It is a lot tougher for most people as they don't manage their time correctly.
Hi! What stops me or my clients? I work out regularly but what stops me is when I have a cold or when life with family gets super busy and I pack my social calendar too full it slides into the exercise time and vice versa. Most of the time, I always prioritize movement. Clients - I would say extra weight, injury, work & family life including taking care of aging parents and children etc. What are your thoughts?

Nothing usually! I walk Mon & Wed morning, play Pickleball 3-4 x a week, tap dance once & watch gr kids 1-2 days a week. 😀
Lack of motivation or confidence. Continuing to workout isn't easy and takes dedication. Engage and support your clients both in and outside the gym.
