I get referrals, support when needed, and a great pool of people to refer when my clients need something.
Yes, I have connected with others to promote my yoga classes, and did attain one student through Alignable. So I believe its a great way to network and get your business known!!
Being a part of networking groups is a wonderful way to develop relationships, set up one to ones and learn about other business and see how you can help one another.
It's great to be part of a network of entrepreneurs. You will not only get the support, but eventually do business with each other. You might even get a friend and or trusted colleagues
Basically, I have helped out a lot of others and not really reaped much benefit myself directly.
I recently acquired an accountability partner (We kick each others butts to achieve our goals). During the pandemic this has helped me immensely. We talk weekly to set goals and review previous weeks goals. Most importantly we hold each other accountable. Please be well and safe everyone!
My networking has been primarily with Attorneys and courts. I do reunifications and there are few Therapists who do this kind of high conflict work. In addition, I talk to everyone involved including Minors counsel, both attorneys and relatives where possible. I've begun to draw genograms trace all the participants in each case and there may be 10 or 20 different people in each case. This broad approach is what the Court needs to apply to decisions regarding custody, visitation and possible danger to others. Most Attorneys have little time to collect the information I collect and it makes their cases run smoother. As a consequence, I get many referrals. One Family Law Judge has requested therapists to work on behalf of low income people in court cases and lower their fees. I have volunteered to do so to assist children to get a better outcome by helping their parents. This is where networking counts in a direct way.
My networking group has members dedicated to showing up each week and looking for business for one another. It has been a boon to my business, especially during Covid.
I joined B.O.S.S network 6 weeks ago and I enjoy our Monday meetings online and while I am getting requests for printing estimates, my best reward is I have a new graphic designer, a new Podcast, legal shield help, and a web designer who is terrific.
We are friends and we help each other.
I even have Social Media help, college entrance advise, and a service that can act as my office when needed.
Throw in Credit Card Processing, and Insurance and we all have our own specialities.
Call me if you want to join our network or if you want some printing estimates from me.

Much like a Mastermind group where we exchange ideas, do training so we all learn and grow, we uplift each other and support each other. If you have something to help someone that they know, then they know who to refer to and because you've built a relationship with members in the group it's more likely that people will send referrals to you. Have to know like and trust someone in order to share your information with others and you have that relationship established.
