How does you business accomplish its goals through networking? What frustrations have you had in the past?

After having a networking organization and meetings for over 8 years I realized that I have met 1,000,s of business people who have failed at networking, their business or are not receiving what they want or need out of networking. I am creating a new Tampa Bay Business Professionals meeting that guarantees results for those who participate and currently developing the format to include education, guaranteed new business intorductions (not leads!) and more. This will be 80% business growth with 20% "networking" done properly. This is not a solicitaion!  I would like to hear from you about what you would like to accomplish at networking or other meetings + your frustrations, if any, with networking. This will help me in developing the best possible experience for those who have the desire to grow their business.
Thanks in advance!

Looking at business from the consumer side. We have over looked the most important part of business, doing what is right to insure the consumer that his money is buying him the most, for his hard work. Building honesty and showing the consumer the difference in doing business with your firm. I build concrete based homes, and I can proof the value, of our system. We have gone backwards in the construction Industry, we build homes using saw dust and glue panels, and Mother-Nature has our number when it comes to stick build homes. It is time to make the consumer the most important part of the equation, and respect his investment in his biggest purchase, his Home. www.impactconcretehomes.com

Learning to Network and run a business is a big challenge for me.  I like to meet people, however, sometimes the other networkers are not receptive and it takes alot to get past that sort of stuff.  Or groups are clicks and hard to get to know the people.  However, I work hard at it.  I not only try to be around networkers who will bring business to me but that they are businesses and people that I can give recommendations so that they get new clients also.  I am going to a networking group this morning.  Happy Friday Everyone.

Networking is a physical connection and with live conversations for the most part.

In the newest age people tend to to videos and social media.

What I would like to see is,  at the live networking  function there is some sort of remembrance after I connect and meet people. That If I give them a customer they would return the business. People tend to forget or don't want to try someone new. The old saying that " my word is good" has gone out the door. Most people are only look in to see whats in it for them.

Another example is, I have used many title, mortgage, pest, moving, cleaning companies and when I ask for return business I get a blank reaction.

I spend many dollars on the social media scene because the experts say that's where its at. But I totally disagree. They go there because they have no social skills ,cant take the time or believe its faster and cant be bothered with a conversation with a live person. Maybe if we followed through with artificial intelligence through out the actual home viewing and underwriting to closing Id sell more that way!! lol

Networking is a viable tool, to bring “to your toolbox”, a number of qualified professionals who can assist you in fulfilling requests from past and present day clients. Once your R.E. deal has closed you can easily forget your past clients but, it is important to offer to your Buyers & Sellers trades people who can be trusted to help them make changes to their new property. So by networking, I have built a portfolio of plumbers, electricians, painters, roofers, mortgage specialists, stagers etc. who are reliable, trustworthy and honest who can help them with their home projects. It gives me an opportunity to stay in touch with my clients and to develop and maintain an ongoing rapport with them. Also, when I recommend a tradesperson, a mortgage person, a daycare or whatever is necessary the person providing the service must produce to my standards and if they don’t produce, I choose someone else the next time. They get one chance to prove they are worthy of my recommendation! You will find your networking portfolio changes steadily over time as people and companies come and go and you have to have flexibility in adding to it or in deleting those whose services do not reflect your business model. You have to maintain high standards to be successful in Real Estate and you are accountable for those you recommend. It is always your name on the line!
