Advertising on social media is a great way to spread the word about your business if that is where your demographics are.  Your type of business would do well in print also in local papers.  Send me an email and I will be happy to go over options for you.

If you have a strong website and a dedicated geographic area that you serve, then a paid search campaign can be very effective. I specialize in this area and if you would like to provide more specifics around your business or goals, I would be happy to provide a proposal. You mentioned Facebook, which may be another vehicle depending on your specific business situation.

If you were our client, our first question would be: is your audience there? If they are not, all the other advise is not relevant. If you'd like to continue this conversation, please private message me. Wishing you all the best, always!

There is no magic bullet. All comments/suggestions so far are potential tactics that exist only in theory. The true test of an opinion/suggestion is to test and measure. Guessing isn’t going to as effective.
Make sure you have real and relevant measurement metrics in place, or you won’t know what action is actually moving the needle. Guessing is just another tactic, and it rarely works.

Sure, you can list your items 1x1 on marketplace or a number of other digital selling platforms. However, I would suggest a responsive, easy to update web page with a listing of all of your items. Then, use digital advertising to point users to that page/site. That way, users have the opportunity to view all of your products for sale.

The first thing is to join as many groups on Facebook as possible that has something to do with your industry. There must be tons of construction, auto, and utility groups on Facebook.  That way when you post a marketplace you can submit that post listing to as many of your groups possible.

Facebook can be a very cost effective way to reach your potential buyers with a low ad spend.  Facebook Marketplace is just OK.  Many people think that Facebook advertising does not work because they do not know how to use the business manager and ad manager to accurately target your audience, use pixel data, re-marketing approaches, look-alike audiences, chat bots that work 24/7. well thought out and split tested ads with compelling media and more. These techniques can rapidly zero in on your exact customer and present the best ad to get them to respond.

This is not easily done by the average Facebook user and gets to be a pretty in-depth process that is not likely to be a good to investment of your time to try to learn when running your business is your primary focus. That combined with the fact that the terrain "behind the scenes" with Facebook changes in Facebook advertising can often change quickly and dramatically, as happened in certain  markets just a couple of weeks ago.

Ask yourself,

"What advertising platform can I use that delivers my ads only to my most likely buyers?"

"What ad platform can identify and reach back out to those that have shown interest with a single click on my ad?"

Can you imagine how these features alone could significantly improve your advertising ROI?

There are several steps beyond these to further optimize Facebook ads and turn your ads into a laser targeted low cost method to build an audience of the exact people that you want to reach out to when that new piece of equipment first rolls in, getting them engaged so that your stock is effectively marketed very efficiently, and the time that it is in inventory is minimized.

In general, the way we assemble and manage such advertising results in approximately a 75% increase in the number of new customers for the same advertising spend.

I'll do a free audit of your marketing strategy and make some possible recommendations.  And show you what we did for one of the largest automotive dealerships in town.  There also may be some opportunities to save you money on your operations so you have more budget to spend on marketing, which we would also review for free.

There are many different ways to advertise on social media. Choosing the best plan always depends on what you are selling and who your customer is. Setting up your ads to only be promoted within the market place would be best and also targeting employment positions. Out of the box Facebook/Instgram places your ads in many different areas. Limiting those areas can guarantee your ads will only show where you want saving wasted ad dollars. Send me and email or give me a call if you are interested in learning more.

There's no silver bullet. You test. What pulls better, where? Right product, right audience.
