We do cosmetic dentistry for the whole family, along with root canals and surgical procedures as necessary. We are a full service dentist. And we strive to make sure your visit is as pleasant as possible.

Graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry May 1992 and came home to start a family and a practice.

Yes The dentures need to be checked for proper fit and wear periodically. Most of the bleaching kits available over the counter aren’t as strong so they aren’t as effective as the bleaching gels used in a dental office. For me it’s the way Insurance companies pay on major restorative procedures. For instance, a patient comes in for a crown or bridge. So you allow 60-90 minutes on your schedule for prep, impressions,etc. Then there is the cost of the restoration actually being fabricated. Then the time allotted... (more) For me it’s the way Insurance companies pay on major restorative procedures. For instance, a patient comes in for a crown or bridge. So you allow 60-90 minutes on your schedule for prep, impressions,etc. Then there is the cost of the restoration actually being fabricated. Then the time allotted for placement. So you have time and $$ invested, but you can’t file a claim until the restoration is placed. I have seen a situation arise where we had to wait 3 months because the patient works out of town. And then when you file the claim it may take 6-8 weeks to get paid if they approve the claim. In the last 3 years I have had 2 instances where Delta Dental denied the claim saying an asymptomatic tooth had to have a root canal before they would pay for a restoration. So they, in essence are dictating treatment without a license to practice dentistry.

I once thought we would see less and less decayed teeth with advances in preventative care, but with the rise of the incidence of dry mouth problems and drug abuse, I don’t foresee decay of teeth lessening any time soon. So learn all you can every day.

We have found it best to try to get the money for the service up front or at least the day the service is rendered.
