Founded in March 1987 by Philippe Danh, a former automotive journalist (Street Rodding Illustrated, Street Rodder, Hot Rod), Frog Specialties LLC specializes in the search, inspection and sale of Classic Cars, Race Cars and associated products for our European clientele. We speak English, French, Spanish.
We provide thorough and detailed auto inspections for out-of-state and overseas buyers.
Our motorcycle division is the exclusive importer and distributor of the French-made Beringer motorcycle brakes which are distributor dealer direct but also the customer bike builders and race teams.
Back in 1984 there were no american car parts importers in France and more and more friends called upon us to supply them with oem, aftermarket and race parts. In March 1987 Philippe sent up Frog Specialties as a side business with an answer machine and PO Box.
A french manufacturer of custom VW bug parts asked us to distribute their products in the US . Rather than calling the company some generic name like "Pacific auto parts imports", we jokingly called ourselves Frog Specialties because the Britt and GIs called the French "Frogs" during WW1. The name stuck. We get frequent calls from restaurants asking if we supply frog legs, pet stores looking for live frogs and frog souvenir chasers asking for decorative frogs.....We also receive Frog gifts from our customers and friends...It's fun.
