The Gideon Group believes in the power of individuals who act in unison with a singular purpose. Our purpose is multi-faceted:
• To maximize the gifts and resources of each servant in the Gideon Group.
• To create a comprehensive program for homeless menand wome, veterans
and the formeerrly incarcerated that transforms their lives into meaningful
substance.
• To provide housing, direction, foundational growth, community integration,
goal achievement and welfare measurement for those accepted not the
program.
• To expand the program (s) incrementally based upon individual and collective
successes
The Gideon Project includes the Gideon Group and the Gideon House. Gideon's Army represents the three hundred chosen by God to do battle and rescue Israel. It’s composed of servant leaders who share the vision of Reverend Larry Walker. They believe that God will unlock their talents and abilities and direct them towards helping the homeless. The Gideon House will be a one-of-a-kind residential facility where select individuals find refuge, mentoring, understanding, resources, guidance, renewal, leadership, development, and caring for one year period.
Vision: To create a space for all homeless men and women, veterans and the formerly incarcerated in Dallas to transform their lives into productive community servants and resourceful persons.
Mission: To identify and assist individuals in recovering the dignity necessary to achieve a self-sustaining civic existence.
The Gideon Group provides assesments, referrals and connectivity to the many supportive services to achieve self sufficiency and sustained growth.
