As a Realtor, I recognize that buyers and sellers have many choices when choosing a real estate agent. It's crucial that a client feel confident in my professionalism, knowledge & skills. However, above all, they need to feel assured that when they convey their needs I have listened and will act accordingly on their behalf. Simply said, If they're looking for a ranch style home, I'm not going to show them a 2-story. They know their budget better than anyone. If they say their limit is 200,000. I will respect their decision and show them homes in that price bracket. Good listeners make the best communicators and good communications is key to a successful relationship.
Many years ago I had gotten an Arizona Real Estate License, but decided to move in a different direction. After 25 years traveling the Country as a Field Director for Bright Horizons Family Solutions I decided to realize my all time plan to move to the Carolinas. In 2015 I moved to Charlotte, got my N.C. Real Estate License and am thrilled that I followed my dream. Seeing the look on a first time buyer's face, never gets old. I've found that in most professions, being a good communicator is key. And to be a good communicator, you need to perfect the art of listening. I don't see being a realtor as "selling", but more as "providing for the needs of my clients". Most of my clients have become friends. Keeping in touch and checking in allows me the benefit of realizing the fruit of my efforts, When a client/friend tells me that they can't wait to go home to their house each day, I know I've done my job well.
