The biggest mistake I see is business owners never give their marketing a chance to get legs.  All marketing takes time to build and it will always grow based on time.   I constantly have to coach...look... your business is not Carl's Jr.  don't expect to get the results of a Carl's Jr.'s coupon... I would sit at the table all day in Vegas if I put in $1200 and got back $1500.   Pick a marketing plan of action and give it a TRUE chance.  Listen to the representative of that business for the best tips for success.  Put your spidey senses to work here, be sure that  marketing rep is someone that you truly trust and feels has your best interest in mind, not the guy that is trying to just score a big commission for his paycheck.  You will know...  Good luck..   I have done marketing with small businesses for over 30 years... you are always welcome to reach out to me if you want to ask questions about something you are thinking about doing.  I love helping others.. kinda my thing..

For the next 9 years they were our local Mexican spot...even though there were many others to choose from.

(Not saying that this doesn't SUCK, because it certainly does) however,  You always hear those stories that start..well this horrible thing happened, and it forced me to do This other thing, and that changed my life...  This could be your life changer...embrace it!!!  There are places in the country(the world) that the shutdown has not effected as much.  Find those areas, Lots graphic design jobs can be done almost anywhere now online.  Try putting yourself out on fiverr doing odd graphics design jobs for different industries, different countries even.. you can build your account and bid on projects that need immediate work.  It might be a little less than you are used to making,  but it is something.   Maybe somebody in Germany needs a beer label...  go global..  Contact your local church about your mom,  I am sure they can point you to resources for help,  maybe they even have some people that can help on staff.  Catholic Charities always has a ton of information for special needs.    At most importantly, Put it up to the Lord, ask for the wisdom that he will reveal during this time of crisis and to help you to navigate the waters as you move forward with your career and your life.  Embrace the Challenge...Embrace the Change...You will be amazed on how looking at the crisis as an opportunity will change how you start the day...  Adding you to my prayers...Good Luck
