We specialize in providing individualized support for students in Jr High-Adult education. Our focus is not on grades, but on developing strategies and Executive Skills (eg. Time Management, Goal Setting, Task Initiation and Follow-Through) to help our students become independent, lifelong learners and successful adults.
Our ideal customer is someone who they themselves, or whose child wants to improve, but is struggling with motivation or how to get started due to a lack of strategy or foundational understanding of the subject.
We have teachers and tutors who focus on Elementary education, Special Education, and College Test Preparation and College Level courses. Our tutors are custom-matched for each student and we know our team personally!
Our sessions can be conducted in-person or online.
Our owner, Kimberly worked in the Corporate sector for nearly two decades in hiring, mentoring and senior leadership to achieve company goals. She observed a running pattern of candidates applying for, or occupying roles lacking the basic discipline and strategies to manage, such as: maintaining their calendars, running meetings or communicating effectively. The impetus for choosing Tutor Doctor was the ability to go back to the most influential points in a person’s life to provide them the tools and perspective early on to become successful adults.
Our Academic Coaches each bring a personal story about how they became passionate about helping others through education. These stories usually stem from overcoming adversities such as ADHD, dyslexia, an absence of parental support with academics, and others come from inspiration like “the middle school math teacher who made it all click”!
We want to be this inspiration and mentor to you and your child.
