Denise K Ambre
Ambre, Denise
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Psychoanalyst specializing in individual, couples, adolescent, and child psychotherapy. I maintain a small group private practice conveniently located in Glenview, Illinois.
With over 25 years of experience as a therapist and as a graduate of both Loyola School of Social Work and the Wisconsin Institute for Psychoanalysis, I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD. I employ 4 other therapists who each have their specialty areas, as well as treating depression, anxiety, and developmental struggles.
In addition to being a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I have presented at National conferences and to general audiences, speaking on the topics of trauma and PTSD, parenting, and child development. I am also on the faculty of the Wisconsin Institute for Psychoanalysis, where I teach courses on psychoanalytic topics, and adjunct faculty for Northwestern University, where I am a Supervisor for the Master's students in the Counseling Psychology Program.
I am an interactive, psychodynamic therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and insight to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with individuals to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
