Little Rhody Rescue and Quarantine Inc
Little Rhody Rescue was founded in 2002. Our team of volunteers is diligent in following the laws, procedures and preferences that the State and Federal veterinarians and USDA advise.
After we accept dogs into the rescue from high kill shelters throughout Louisiana , Texas and Tennessee, ALL animals are spayed / neutered, vaccinated , de-wormed, microchipped, tested and treated for disease/ parasites, and cared for by veterinarians. They must pass an additional exam for travel (called a CVI or IHC) prior to transport.
They are Transported using ONLY USDA licensed transport companies all the way to Rhode Island. They are offered for adoption in the best families throughout New England.
To date, over 13,600 dogs and pups have made the trip into loving homes. Legally, properly and safely.
We are proud of the work that we do to save these deserving wonderful animals that will soon become your newest family member !
In 2002, my husband wanted another puppy. There were none to be found in any shelter in Rhode Island. As an Animal control officer, there were no options BUT to rescue! We found a great pup in Tennessee. after years of networking and rescuing, our little rescue has become a big rescue even though it's run from my personal home.
I do not profess that we will save them all; that'd be naive of anyone to think. But through spaying/ neutering and doing things the right way, we will make a huge difference! And someday, once we have succeeded in diminishing the animal population in our shelters, we will rest.
