Originally a Cartridge World franchise started in 2005, we transformed to a printing services business between 2009 and 2015, becoming BMD Printing & Business Services in April, 2015.

We are living off blueprints and graduation signs, plus a smattering of odd jobs for our regulars who are still open.  Lots of faxes for people applying to DES, too.  We applied for the PPP and have enough cash reserves for 2-4 months.  Our trade printers are still operating at some level, so... It's relatively clean.  The headline fonts on the "Differ" page are hard to read.  Also, focus on customer benefits rather than features and services.  You need to tell customers HOW your services will benefit their business. Generally, yes, you have to get a permit.  I changed my business name (no physical changes) and I had to get a permit, so if you may want to inquire with the Building Dept before you start.  The other thing to consider is whether you need to get permission from any association your building is a... (more) Generally, yes, you have to get a permit.  I changed my business name (no physical changes) and I had to get a permit, so if you may want to inquire with the Building Dept before you start.  The other thing to consider is whether you need to get permission from any association your building is a part of.  If the renovations change anything outside of the space, it may be subject to approval by both the landlord and the association.  If it is inside, you may still need permission from the landlord if it materially changes the business you are in.  These are more special cases, but worth considering if they apply.
