The concept of Square, when first introduced, was good. A Flat Rate of 2.50% with no transaction fees. Square then, some time later, raised the rate to 2.75%. Recently they introduced their new rate program and changed it to 2.67% PLUS .10 cents per transaction. VERY EXPENSIVE. With our Flat Rate - All In program you pay one flat discount rate with no additional fees. Also remember, with most businesses now keying in transactions instead of inserting or swiping the card, because of the current situation, you are paying a surcharge as card not present. With flat rate you pay the same for all transactions regardless or how you process or what card you are processing, including American Express.
