About Us
I have over 50 years experience in sewing. I have made numerous items of clothing, including intricate costumes, curtains, drapes, pillows and other sewing crafts. I have designed costumes for several local productions. I have sewn endless buttons, replaced zippers, and set many hems over the years.
I take pride in my work & am meticulous to details.
How We Got Started
After I retired, my older sister, my son, and I were talking about all of the princess dresses I had made for my grand daughters, my son said I should really think about selling some since he had received alot of inquiries to where his daughter had gotten her Rapunzel dress when they went to Disneyland, my sister suggested the same type of idea with alterations, etc. Since I was always helping friends and neighbors with their sewing/alteration needs. I pondered the idea this Mendin' by Minden was born.

Replace zippers, buttons, and setting hems. Cover pillows, make curtains, placemats, etc.
Small 6" X 6" pillow with a "tooth pocket" to hold lost tooth/money. Comes in assorted colors.

I feel I am probably not qualified as am sole owner/employee and worked piece work as I did alteration piece work. That and most of my business was done at Prom time, Halloween and Christmas. Have not expanded yet to selling hand crafted items yet.

Hi, I am excited to share my story. I have always loved to sew, helping out friend's out on making curtains, pillows for coaches, or making costumes for plays, ballet recitals, prom dresses, or more recently, princess dresses for my granddaughters. So after encouragement from my relatives and husband I designed some postcard advertising my availability to help others, then sent out my grandson & some of his friends on their bicycles one summer afternoon to distribute the post cards around our neighborhood.
My ideal customer is someone that needs my sewing expertise to replace a zipper, a button, fix a hem etc.or even need an outfit made for a special occasion or make curtains to change up their decor.
I started my business because I was always being asked if I could alter a seam, fix a hem or a zipper. If I could sew curtains or costumes. I realized that kids weren't being taught simple talents like sewing even those in college don't the first thing about it. Something that was once so common...

I started my business because I was always being asked if I could alter a seam, fix a hem or a zipper. If I could sew curtains or costumes. I realized that kids weren't being taught simple talents like sewing even those in college don't the first thing about it. Something that was once so common is becoming a lost art. Since I have always had a passion for this art. I figured that I could help ease that burden and help others so that favorite pair of pants with a broken zipper could be repaired instead of thrown out. Instead of paying high retail costs for things like simple curtains, placemats, napkins, & other such items with not much attention to detail or quality, why not make them?
So I started with friends & it took off from there. It is not a big money maker but feel I am doing a service to the community & I am utilizing my talents. And with the economy I feel I will be in business as long as there is a need.
