Did they file for unemployment even if they were only 1099? Did they take your customer list, start their own business to compete, bad mouth you or contact them for a MLM opportunity? If not, then you got off easy regardless of the time, money and effort you invested in them.

Hourly wages do not challenge people's creativity so offer them a real opportunity that allows them to see the reward for their effort, grow, improve and better themselves.
