USLA is an independent community bank serving East-Central Indiana for over 120 years. Founded in Connersville in 1892, USLA is committed to the economic success of the communities we serve.
Unlike a large chain bank who may view Fayette and Hancock Counties as just lines on a balance sheet, we view these areas as our home. Large banks may well just view our area and its citizens as merely sources of profit, but we view our home counties as places to nurture, improve, and re-invest. USLA is proud to provide the means for local residents and businesses to prosper.
In addition, Union Savings & Loan is a “Mutual,” which means we do not have stockholders to satisfy, only Customers.
As many banks merge, getting ever larger, and as the owners and managers of those banks become more distant from the communities they serve, we stand proudly against the national tide, remaining a small, independent bank that continues to operate by traditional values.
Over our 120 years in business, USLA has seen both strong and weak economies, weathered 2 World Wars and countless other conflicts, and spanned the terms of 22 US Presidents and 28 Indiana Governors. We’ve seen fads come and go and come again. And while we are enhancing our services to keep pace with the needs of 21st century life, we will NEVER modify our core values of conservative financial principles and friendly, hometown service.
We welcome the opportunity to serve you.
