About Us

The Oaks Center for Counseling & Wellness is a nonprofit mental health organization serving the Greensboro and Triad communities by making high-quality counseling and wellness services accessible to everyone.
We provide licensed professional counseling for children (6+), teens, adults, couples, and families, along with specialized services including walk-and-talk therapy, telehealth, mental performance consulting for athletes and professionals, and our ROOTED Intensive Outpatient Program for women.
Beyond counseling, we're passionate about prevention and community wellness. Through our Worth & Wellness Community groups, wellness education, corporate consulting, and community partnerships, we help individuals and organizations build healthier brains, stronger relationships, and more resilient lives.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every service, partnership, sponsorship, and donation helps make mental health care more accessible for individuals and families who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
We believe mental health is for everyone, and we're honored to partner with individuals, families, businesses, healthcare providers, schools, churches, and community organizations to bring hope, healing, and lasting wellness to our community.

How We Got Started

The Oaks began with a simple but powerful vision: to make quality mental health care accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
Founded as a nonprofit in 2017, we started by offering free community wellness groups and creating a space where people could learn practical ways to care for their mental health. As the needs of our community continued to grow, so did our services.
What began with one counselor serving a handful of clients has grown into a comprehensive counseling and wellness center offering licensed therapy, community groups, mental wellness education, corporate consulting, and specialized programs like our ROOTED Intensive Outpatient Program.
Today, we're honored to serve individuals, families, organizations, and referral partners throughout the Triad while remaining committed to our original mission: making hope, healing, and mental wellness accessible to everyone who walks through our doors.
Strength Grows Here.
