To those that are frustrated about lack of integration into online services and the monthly fees, you should really look into Stripe (https://stripe.com/pricing). There are no monthly fees or minimum charges and you pay a simple 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction. This is what we use at CentraTech Solutions and we've integrated it into our online billing software so we can accept credit/debit cards online and at our physical location. It also makes recurring monthly bills very easy to manage (automated payments with email alerts and receipts sent to customers). There are many forms of paid advertising. Since you mentioned "likes", it sounds like you've been focused on Social Media Marketing (SMM). One of the things that my company specializes in is digital advertising and marketing. The one thing that people often fail to think about is the ad content itself, but sometimes a clever, creative ad makes ALL the difference. Typically though, Facebook is much better for brand awareness than generating direct sales. However, there are always exceptions. For instance you could have a unique product or funny advertisement that goes viral.
We've found that not only for our clients, but also for our own business that Search Engine Marketing (SEM) can have a very significant impact on revenue. Again, there are many other factors that determines the ad's success. Things like the ad content, targeted keywords, targeted audience, and ad budget can make or break a campaign.
For our business, we've found that it's almost dumb not to spend money on Search Engine Marketing and digital ads. For every dollar we spend, on average we make $8-10 back.
