I am a CPA and I prepare tax returns. The new law is very different and there are quite a few changes that have never been in the code before. If you need help call a CPA! The online tax preparation services are great but if there is any complexity to your tax return the online services can become very cumbersome to apply. The retail preparers are adequate most of the time. However, if you have a complex tax return or there is an opportunity to minimize your tax liability that is not obvious you may want to hire a CPA firm to prepare your return.
