I was front page on Google for 12 years, but my business listing was removed due to an address issue. I fixed it, and I haven’t changed anything on the listing since. A year later my email was hacked and when I alerted them, Google removed my listing entirely, and now someone else can claim ownership. I’ve contacted Google multiple times, but they’ve either ignored me or been completely unhelpful. I even involved the Better Business Bureau, but nothing has changed. This issue has left me lost, and I’ve heard other small businesses are facing it too. Does anyone have advice? I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle and for a small business this is a big deal.

Kristy, while not exactly the same situation, I recently went through this with a client. Google suspended their business profile and it took me 1.5 months, following up almost daily to finally get resolved. It sounds like you’ve exhausted all options. But in case you haven’t already, I would recommend reaching out to google support to open a case, who will likely forward your case to another team. Follow up regularly with whomever contacts you on your case. It may take a while but just consistently email asking for assistance until you hear something. I’m not sure this will help and I am so so sorry this happened. I can only imagine how discouraging this has been.

My condolences on what’s happening with your business I wish I had words of encouragement or even a better advice to give you that would make it successful. Good luck and if you find out anything share with us, please I wish and hope all the best for you, your success, your business and your family.

You may want to reach out to Brad Wetherall of Bitwize Consulting. Brad was a Google employee for 10 years in the Google Business Profile division and now has his own consulting business. I learned of him through a webinar by Joy Hawkins.

Hello Kristy, I have dealt with similar issues before.  You should have control of your registered domain and that will allow us to establish ownership and remove any pretenders.  Then we can repair the damage done.  PM me if you'd like to discuss further.  Cheers, Logan

Hi Kristy - such a pain, sorry to hear about this. I'm founder at a registered Google Agency where we help clients with issues just like this one; we have priority support access with Google and can likely help you get this done in an efficient manner. I'd love to set up a time to chat and see if we can help - if you're interested, feel free to shoot me a message and we can find a time.
