I'm very familiar with the practices of LinkedIn but not so much on Alignable.

What are your best suggestions as far as:

1-How often to post

2-Do hashtags work well

3-Are certain posts shared on the feed (text/picture/multi pics..)

I would appreciate any tips you have that have helped you on this platform.  Thanks in advance :)

Welcome, Lisa.

This is the complete flip of the coin from LinkedIn.

Alignable is unlike any other platform and requires much more careful thought with what is posted and how.

Hashtags are not needed and photos should be aligned with the subject and group being posted to.

Self promotion, advertising, and slinging call me messages is not desired or ideal.

As business professionals we are here to network with fellow professionals and let relationships build naturally without pressure and directives.

Please be so cool and come back to school at AU 📣 Alignable University and learn how to be Aligned with Alignable and soar to success in 2024.

Alignable is about quality conversation and networking. Blatant self-promoting/advertising, hashtagging and linking outside of the platform to your website/blog posts will most likely be hidden by the algorithms as it's not allowed but as of late, I see a lot of it going on. So it's tough to say where Alignable stands on it because some can do it while others cannot so it's kind of a crapshoot.

My advice is to make sure you read the group rules before you do any self-promotion because some allow it and others don't.

From my experience, nobody pays attention or engages with self-promoting posts, and yet those who keep doing it don't get it so it's best to start a conversation if you truly want to make some quality connections. Anything else is just a waste of time

Right now you have 500 characters to post with. After that you have to go to the comments and continue.

Hashtag aren't a thing here.

Videos can be embedded but not natively posted

Pictures are great.

Post as much or as little as you want. Just remember the more you post the more engagement you'll most likely get.

Hi Lisa, Great questions. A lot of business owners on Alignable recommend posting daily, but it's really up to you. As far as the content, it's a little different than LinkedIn because the post length is longer on LinkedIn and how well your posts do on Alignable depends on the strength of you connections and the relevance of the content to the group you are posting to. Alignable doesn't identify as a social media site, but if you use hashtags, you will show up for them in the search. I haven't seen anyone post multiple photos, it's more like one photo at a time or a video with text. Back to posting, you can post in groups, in comments, and to your connections and local group. When go become premium you'll have more reach when post to your local area. One of the most important things is to update your profile and then continue updating it about once a month. Updating your profile includes having offers filled out. I recommend that you join the Alignable University group to learn more. Also, join some Smart Connects. They are a great way to meet people and learn more about Alignable. Hope that helps.

Think of Alignable as the long game brand awareness. You get on here, tweek your profile so you clearly identify your ideal client and referral partner. Then start meeting people with the intent of building a referral network. No sales, just meet-greet to find common ground on how to help each other out. Both with referrals and advice on business questions.

Lisa Rufsholm you may want to find places in the chat feeds where you can offer free advice on the best ways to stay healthy.

Chris Corino you could offer tips on the best wine pairings.

Denise Mele you could tell people which product types could help solve their problem.

The point is to establish youirself as an expert and offer value without being salesy. Kinda like I just did by helping you guys! lol

1-How often to post:
If it is your personal profile I would do everyday, BUT with valuable and engaging posts.

2-Do hashtags work well
No they don't

3-Are certain posts shared on the feed (text/picture/multi pics..)
I see when you update your services, profile image, etc. those are shared.

Here's my suggestion: Use Alignable to build your referral network, build solid relationships, learn, and educate others with your skills. Then in return your business grows. This is more of a Giving platform in my opinion. Hope this helps!

What I recommend for Alignable:

- Create a good profile and include your website

- Connect and have as many 1-2-1's with as many people as possible to see how you can assist them not sell them

- I don't care for "speed networking" so I don't usually attend Alignable "Smart" events. There are better events like Free 15+30 Networking Events where you will actually network and discuss your business with all attendees.

- Don't rely on any one platform!

i wish you the best!

This is a great question!  I wasn't aware of Alignable University as well.

Some pretty decent remarks here ...
But, I must chime in ...

Social Media sites are for "getting the word out", "helping and influencing others", "building relationships with your target or ideal customers or clients", "leading by example", "selling without selling" (which most don't have any idea what that is), and giving extraordinary and exceptional value ...

When you are out there posting, commenting, or talking in "Dumb Connects", you are not "selling" (right?) ... You are showing others, how much you know and how much you care ...

But, far too many cannot stop talking about themselves ... Platitudes and jargon ... Hopefully one day they will understand that nobody cares, or is listening to them, unless a target or ideal customer inquired about what they offer ...

And this is the problem when spending far too much time with random people in "Dumb Connects" ... Where are your leads from your Marketing Campaigns?

Your decked out profile, does the selling for you ... And that goes for ANY platform you are on ... How much time have you spent on yours?

PS: And, don't forget about the effort ... Most fall dramatically short of what it really takes ... The quick-buck, or the quick-sale syndrome takes over very easily ... So, because of these psychographics, they even started creating the narrative of "pivoting", instead of doing what you SHOULD be doing, and that's "digging in" ...

It way more 'push' engagement.  This is mostly a plus.  There are also plethora of virtual networking and webinars.  Also very good add. On the down side, much seems put behind the premium pay wall.
