Question for the group:

What's the one habit or practice that keeps you grounded when everything in the business is moving too fast?

I picked up a version of this in the military, where slowing down felt like something I couldn't afford in the moment. It turned out to be the exact discipline that kept me from bad decisions later. That lesson followed me straight into running businesses.

A few things that work for me:
A non-negotiable routine that has nothing to do with work
One trusted person I run big decisions past before acting
A hard rule against deciding anything major in the heat of the moment

Curious what this group leans on. Is it a routine, a person, a practice, or something else entirely?

Question for the group:

How many follow-up touches do you personally give a lead before you decide they're not interested?

I've noticed most owners quit around touch two or three, but a lot of data points to responses actually clustering between touch five and eight. That's a big gap, and it's probably costing all of us deals we've already written off.

A few things I've found useful:

Deciding your touch count in advance, before the emotion of a quiet inbox sets in
Changing the format each time instead of repeating the same message
Leading with something useful by touch three instead of just "checking in"

Curious what this group's real number is. Do you track it, or does it come down to gut feel in the moment?
