Ronda Miller
Energy Consultant
About Us
Let me negotiate your business' energy costs for you. Unlike other energy consultants, I don't have one rate and one company that I will try to sell you. I work with 115 energy companies, so my goal is not to sell anything, my goal is to find which company has the best rate and terms for you or help you decide if solar and/or LED is more beneficial.
We are partnered with the Catholic Energies and one of only three energy companies on the OCEPC's list to give bids to Ohio's public schools.

I've never had employees, but from an employee perspective, I believe the best way to keep good employees is to make them feel like they are not just an employee. Whatever their position in the company is, let them make it their duties their own. When an employee feels like s/he is responsible for something, that it is a reflection of him/herself, they take more pride in it and they won't to hand it over to someone else.

I don't need to create competitive advantage because I truly have it. My biggest frustration is getting people to listen to me (for 30 seconds) to hear it. Businesses are inundated with call from companies demanding their utility bills and insisting they (companies) can save them money. As soon as a person knows I'm involved with energy, natural gas and electric, they shut down. Because of this, I do no cold calling. Being referred by someone the company knows and trusts helps....sometimes. I understand the frustration with all the solicitation, but I just want people to hear me for 30 seconds before making a decision whether or not to hear more.
I think it is expected that a business have a website. When a business does not have one, it's odd and may keep a prospect from doing business with you because it is so easy to go to a competitor's site.

When I close a deal, I give 20% to a non-profit. I help a few non-profits and churches with fundraising. They give me referrals and if I am able to save the referral money and enter into a contract, the non-profit or church gets 20% of my profits.

I also help feed people on the street and find clothing, blankets, shelter.
I don't know for sure, but I would have to think it would always be a beautiful day if you owned an ice cream shop! Yum!

Three years ago I worked at a property management company. The maintenance man who often picked my brain on how to get rich, came in the office, stood over my desk with excitement in his voice and a sparkle in his eye. He'd found the answer, he was sharing it with me, and together we were going to be rich!
Sharing it with me, meant inviting me to see "an opportunity" in a meeting room at the casino. The warning bells went off in my head and I knew it was "one of those pyramid schemes" of which I had not desire to do, but I went anyway, because I wanted to be nice to my friend. I was however, mentally prepared; I would not fall for their evil tricks, I wasn't buying anything or going to sell anything.
Well, they didn't want me to buy anything or sell anything. The company saved people money on electric and gas bills. I thought it was brilliant!! Everyone I knew paid these bills already (no sales) and everyone likes to save money (I would be doing people a favor).
I most certainly wanted to make extra money, but my mind was like the Energizer Bunny as I thought of several people I knew who were really struggling and could turn their lives around doing this business. I was truly more excited thinking I had the answer to help others than I was about making money for myself and I couldn't wait to spread the good news!
Big lesson learned; most poor people don't want an opportunity. If punching a time clock is not involved, they don't believe they can make money, so I moved on.
Next, I learned about churches that did the business and make six figures a month for their congregation. I was on fire again! I met with a couple of the pastors who had created this wealth for their churches and I was practically walking on clouds with the excitement of being able to share such amazing knowledge with local churches. My new mission was to share what I had learned with pastors.
Again, another big lesson; a pastor would rather ask his members to write a check above and beyond their tithing than take the time to even look at something that allows the congregation to keep it's money.
I was moving along and making a little money because I had discovered that lawyers, doctors, accounts, and the like are very open to "opportunities". So they were my focus, but I wasn't helping the people I wanted and I wasn't making enough to give.
Lots of lessons and lots of disappointment and then the breakthrough! I was approached by an energy broker to become a consultant. No team building, no recruiting - just SAVING commercial companies money and getting a paycheck, a Big paycheck.
Now, I save companies money (never a bad thing) and I am blessed with pay that is enough to share (also never a bad thing). I give money to ministries, or buy food, or clothing, or gasoline, or tires, or oil changes, or whatever is needed for people who are trying to make it.
My passion is helping people who are struggling, but trying. My career allows me to not only give monetarily, but more importantly it allows me to give my time. I am able to go in the streets and help the people of the streets. I am able to drive people to a food bank, a hospital, a shelter.
When a church or non-profit allows me to save them money on their bills, not only do they benefit from the savings, but I give 20% of my pay back to them. I am blessed with a career that gives me so much and I want with all my heart to share that blessing; so I do.

When I sat at a desk in an office, the best stress reliever for me was to stand and move a little. For some reason, the longer I sat, the more hunched and tensed my body became. Standing at the desk while working for a few minutes or even walking around the office (which took less than 60 seconds) helped me loosen up and relax my body.
Now that I don't have to go to an office (blessed!), I lay in my bed every afternoon, with eyes closed for about 30 minutes. The blinds are open to leave the room well lit, I lay on the covers, and keep my jacket and belt on, because if I get too comfortable I will fall asleep. I'm just comfortable enough to let my mind drift and it's exactly what I need.
Listening, when I listen I discover what the customers needs are and whether or not I am able to give them value.
