What methods do you use to keep track of new people you meet?

Good question - it's always difficult to keep track of a couple pockets full of business cards! There's two answers to this question...
The Easy Answer - immediately friend them on Facebook or connect with them on LinkedIn. Since you're putting out content on those platforms daily (at least I hope so) this should be an easy way to further network with them.
The Hard Answer - it sounds like you're not meeting the right people! I think that getting a bunch of cards at a networking event is action faking rather than action taking. I know that sounds harsh, but focus that time on more useful networking. BNI's or Referral Groups are an excellent place to network. Groups like that require a investment to join and that takes the less serious business owner out of the mix.

Thanks Will - good advice! Too many people do the old "swap & drop" with business cards, and don't take time to connect. I belong to several networking groups, and love to do one on one meetings with people. I really love to find out how they have come to be in their particular field! BNI is a fabulous group! The founder, Dr. Ivan Misner has mentioned SendOutCards in 4 or 5 of his books, and spoke at our convention last March. I was at a party with him, and he's such a nice guy!
