Mariposa Massage provides therapeutic massage to help with relaxation, function and pain management. We use a variety of modalities from deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, heat treatment & cupping. We also use essential oils when desired at no additional cost.
Mariposa Massage & Healing Center (MMHC) was established to make a difference in the health and well-being of the people in our community. The founder and CEO, Barbara Calahan, was looking to be able to work in a more natural healthcare setting, and as a single mother be able to be in control of her schedule in order to work around her children's schedules.
Barbara went to massage school in 2015-2016 and began her practice in October, 2016. Her mission is to provide education to Mariposa's clients and the community about the many benefits of massage therapy, as well as other therapies and products we offer to help with health and wellness.
For those wondering how Mariposa got its name, “Mariposa” is the Spanish word for “Butterfly”. Butterflies depict new beginnings and resonate transformation into something beautiful.
