Rene was trained as a master carpenter in France. He later had a career with the France gas and electric company. After retirement, he remodeled houses on the island where he lived. He finally achieved his dream from childhood and came to America to visit his brother and became a citizen. He met the love of his life and he and Kathy married and continue to make art from recycled and repurposed items.

Having immigrated to America, he started making art out of wood and later metal pieces. With his new wife and muse, they began fulfilling their passion of turning trash to treasures - recycling and repurposing materials into interesting and crazy art.
