You should ALWAYS use Contractors with Insurance.  You would ask them to get you a certificate of insurance or COI.  You also would want them to put your business info on it as the interested party. You should pay attention to the property damage liability on their General Liability. Hope this... I deal with contractors and what you need to think with is the fact that the insurance company is basing its price and your coverage all around the risk that you pose to them for a claim.  That being said, it depends on the coverage some are rated /1000 in payroll, where as others are rated /1000... (more) I deal with contractors and what you need to think with is the fact that the insurance company is basing its price and your coverage all around the risk that you pose to them for a claim.  That being said, it depends on the coverage some are rated /1000 in payroll, where as others are rated /1000 in total sales, or for property insurance it is based off of sq footage,etc.  When they do the yearly (or other frequency) your premium could go up or down based on the exposure to risk that you are to the insurance company.  Also, it could change month-month depending if you are on a reporting form (which is more usually applicable to workers comp) Sincerely, Contractor Insurance Agent

It really depends on the various values that the client has attached to him throughout the course of his life, and this will be found on the needs-analysis survey that you do with him during the appointment.  I mean it also depends on their appetites and what they plan on doing, and honestly, who... (more) It really depends on the various values that the client has attached to him throughout the course of his life, and this will be found on the needs-analysis survey that you do with him during the appointment.  I mean it also depends on their appetites and what they plan on doing, and honestly, who has gotten to them before you, be that Dave Ramsey or another financial person and whatever information/misinformation they have taken on.  You could face quite an uphill battle, but based on data that suggests only 3% of Term Insurance policies are ever paid out, whereas 100% of Whole Life is paid out.  I personally like the Indexed and Universal products, but I focus on businesses where these make more sense.  The number one thing I tell people is that Life Insurance, if bought properly is the 1 insurance policy that I can 100% guarantee will pay out.  And then I hand them a pen.  The amounts and needs change like quicksilver, but it is always better for them to be over-insured than under-insured.

I went through a "in-house training seminar" which went over the products, had a 9 page script to memorize and then went out into the field.  Then was shadowed by a field trainer, who just told me to not use the script, which was very confusing.  That was the first unsuccessful agency.  Now I... (more) I went through a "in-house training seminar" which went over the products, had a 9 page script to memorize and then went out into the field.  Then was shadowed by a field trainer, who just told me to not use the script, which was very confusing.  That was the first unsuccessful agency.  Now I have a relative in my field who has helped me tremendously and is not of the "sink or swim approach."  I HIGHLY recommend consultative training and listening in on calls and daily role playing and drilling different scenarios to make the most effective sales training.
