The Purlin Mill - Is a manufacturer of Steel Building Components and Pre-Engineered Cold Formed Steel Buildings for the construction industry. NEW EQUIPMENT: Early in 2021 The Purlin Mill had two new pieces of equipment installed.
1. Jorns 40' Heavy Gauge Double Folding Machine.
This is the 1st machine in North America with its capabilities. It can bend 11ga. Steel 49.5" wide x 40' length max. 30ga. min. thickness. It also forms Stainless Steel and Aluminum. This machine can make custom structural shapes up to 40', Concealed Fastener wall panels up to 40' lengths. 40' Architectural Gutters w/ Tapered Ends, Tapered Rib Panels, Tapered Roof Panels, Long Length Trim, Round Bends, Column Wraps or Valley Gutters. The list is endless what this machine can form.
2. Schlebach Cut To Length Line. This machine will level or straighten the steel, slit the steel to required widths then cut to length the flat sheet up to 40' lengths. This machine was purchased to keep raw materials fed to the Jorns and supply Flat Sheet to our Valued Customers.
Late 2024 The Purlin Mill purchased another piece of equipment.
3. Stealth 8000 Watt Laser Cutting Machine. This machine cuts a 5' x 10' area.
It will cut out connection brackets for cold formed buildings, base plates and connection plates for Pre-Engineered Red Iron Buildings. This machine makes fast precise clean cuts on Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Copper.
The Purlin Mill is offering a cutting service utilizing this machine for steel fab shops and other potential customers.

The Purlin Mill is conveniently located just minutes from the I-5 corridor.
Four partners of a Pre-Engineered Steel Building Manufacturing Company were tired of purchasing our secondary steel framing (Zees, Cees, Eave Struts, etc.) from other manufacturers and experiencing continuous errors in manufacturing. In 2007 we purchased property in Hubbard Or. and purchased a Brand-New Purlin Roll Form Machine. This way we could control our quality.
In 2008 our building was completed, our machine had delivered, and we were in business supplying our own secondary steel framing for our business.
In January 2017 The Purlin Mill opened its doors to the public and started doing business with other contractors and other steel building manufacturers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
