Can We Ryde Inc./ Mae’s Paige Gardening Program
Can We Ryde is a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating round-trip transportation for low-income and disabled youth, addressing the pressing issue of transportation barriers faced by parents, organizations, and schools in Central Indiana. Our mission revolves around providing safe, affordable, and readily accessible transportation services. In addition to our transportation services, we proudly introduce our program, "Mae's Paige Garden." Our CEO, a passionate farmer, collaborates with schools and organizations to educate K-12 youth on the art of planting, cultivating, and harvesting fresh produce, promoting self-sufficiency and creating an enriching learning environment, even benefiting mental health.
Securing funding for our organization would be a tremendous blessing, as it would support our out-of-school programs for the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, while also expanding employment opportunities for the youth. This empowerment extends to both youth and adults, fostering in self-sufficiency through the cultivation of their own food. The funding we seek will contribute to program rental spaces, allowing us to rent, cultivate, and harvest produce that can then be distributed to local food banks and pantries. It is important to note that Mae's Paige is a registered vendor with the City of Indianapolis Division of Community Nutrition and Food Policy, supported by the Mayor's Office of Indianapolis. Your support will enable us to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of youth and families in our community, ensuring access to transportation, education, and fresh, locally-grown produce. We deeply appreciate your consideration and any support you may provide.
