Before I send a referral to any one business partner, I  first make sure that I understand the client's need, I ask questions, I listen to their feedback, and I make sure that I get permission to refer them out. Once I am comfortable that I have a good understanding for the situation, I refer out to my business partners in the community whom I trust, I have "interviewed" or worked with, and they match my expectations for ethical work, integrity, honestly, expertise and knowledge.
