Back round on how I got started in the office equipment service industry. My father worked in the 1960's on manual typewriters, adding machines, duplicators and cash registers. I as a young man would help him out cleaning "school contract typewriters" in the summer. (And yes for those who may not know, there was a time when you could take "typing classes" in Jr. High / Middle school.) My father passed away in 1977 which is when I inherited his tool case. In need of a job after getting out of the Marines in 1978 I went to work for a typewriter company in Yuma, Arizona and was trained to work on typewriters by an elderly man who had been trained by Royal Typewriter after WW2. Thus that was my introduction into the office equipment service industry. From there I evolved with the industry as it went forward from mechanical to electrical to electronic to computerized from typewriters to copiers and printer faxes and whatever else that came along on the way. And so that is the story.
