🦋 How We Got Started
In December 2012, Katherine Long-Brown learned that her corporate position would be ending the following summer. Rather than retreat, she chose to prepare—and on June 27, 2013, she became a commissioned notary, launching “Notary by Kathy,” a bold, faith-filled step toward entrepreneurship.
Ten years later, in July 2023, she returned briefly to corporate life for insurance needs. But the calling never left her. That same year, she rebranded her business as Butterfly Signatures™ Mobile Notary Services—bringing new energy, clarity, and excellence to her mission. She also authored her first workbook, The Working Butterfly™: Flourishing as a Notary While Keeping Your 9–5, a guide to help other professionals embrace their calling without losing stability.
