However, having said that, private schools offer opportunities to make that fit more precisely. They have the ability to follow their mission, offering an education that is not devoted to scope and sequence, or to test taking and performance based on scores. They may have more money, but small ones do not. Private schools take providing their service seriously because their customers (parents) are paying a great deal of tuition for it. They have a much higher accountability to their constituents and are able to provide their teachers with the autonomy to teach.

As with many things, many hands can make it happen, so I agree that there are others out there you probably don't know who are willing to help with either time, expertise or money. Blast out what you are doing. It is certainly a worthy cause.

Try to take yourself out of the picture as much as you can, and focus on your product and why it is important to your industry/client. I also know that it is hard to make choices when it doesn’t feel like you have any, but I agree with the comments above and finding your niche. Hope this is helpful.

Abel and Sofi are spot on. Time is the only thing we do not get enough of, but if you put your health and well-being at risk, the quality of your time is severely depleted. The suggestions to get others involved in your business to sustain it while you recoup and figure out your path is excellent.

I got my calling to teach at age 7, because I had a great teacher! Passion is what turns the word "work" from being a dirty word to be a wondrous word. As a teacher first and then as an educational leader, making a difference for children has been my desire and goal. I found that in order to do this, I had to create learning environments that met the needs of children in lots of ways so that they felt about learning the way I do.
Not everyone can find and follow their passion, but for those who can, it is life changing. Loving what you do enhances who you are.
