Chapman Financial Coaching
At Chapman Financial Coaching, we've been transforming lives for more than 5 years. Our specialty? Helping professional couples between 25-45 who are ready to change their life. We offer transformational coaching, guiding clients to create budgets, understand their relationship with money, and plan for their future. From vacations, college, home buying, to retirement, we're their personal guide to financial freedom.
My family and I have lived in Northeast TN and SW VA all of our lives. This is home where the mountains surround us but we're close enough to the Atlantic that we can be oceanside within 6 hours.
We enjoy lazy days, hiking, walking in the park, kayaking, renting a boat, bike rides and bonfires.
I love seeing the life changes that occur when I'm working with clients. Finances are a major aspect of our everyday lives and affect every decision we make.
We know how it feels to have the weight of debt and stress affecting your daily life. In 2006, my husband and I were living like many American households. We had one income, a mortgage, and two auto loans. We were not sure where our money was going. In Jan 2008 we were suddenly hit with a 25% decrease in income and we were $65k in debt.
We were homeschooling and trying to keep one parent at home to raise our young children. We soon realized that we needed a plan, our plan wasn’t going to work!
I created a budget and began tracking every penny we spent. We found ways to cut expenses and earn extra money that began going directly to our debts. We started directing our money where to go instead of wondering where it went! In March of 2010 we became 100% debt-free including our home.
Discussing your finances is extremely private. We don’t typically talk about our struggles or successes with just anybody. I work closely with individuals to learn what’s going on beyond the checkbook and credit cards.
I also serve as a mentor for financial decisions and accountability partner. For married couples, the process of coaching helps you both find a place of agreement and serve as responsibility partners.
With a plan, you can have peace and less stress every day
In early 2019, I knew that I didn't want to return to a public job. Our lifestyle had become one of flexibility and we wanted to keep that ability as long as possible. More than 11 years I had worked with finances, then became a stay-at-home/homeschool mom in 2001.
Besides my career and being a mom, my husband and I have built and flipped several houses. I've often had people comment "I don't understand how you do what you do." For many years I had discusses finances and helped others navigate tough financial decisions. In essence, I had been coaching for years without considering in "coaching".
When the opportunity came to join Ramsey Preferred Financial Coaches became available, it joined both worlds. I get the opportunity to teach people about finances!
