Welcome to Amma Edits, LLC! With nearly twenty years of experience as a developmental book editor, I’ve helped countless authors navigate the book editing process. My specialties include developmental editing, beta reading, and guiding writers through self-publishing.
How We Got Started
Amma Edits, LLC, formerly known as The Brielle Agency, was officially founded in 2013 after I left my corporate paralegal job and moved to Kennesaw, Georgia. At the time, I had been editing books and online content as a side hustle since 2008, in addition to my corporate job. The move to Georgia gave me the fresh start I needed to turn my passion and side hustle into a full-time freelance business.

As much as possible, I try not to work on weekends. The only exceptions are when I have an upcoming deadline, and even then, I do not work on Sundays.

Hello William,
Good question. I have been in business for 10 years, and so far most of my customers have been through word of mouth. I only recently started using Thumbtack to expand my reach. I hope this helps.

He/she wants RELIABLE AND PROFESSIONAL GHOSTWRITERS who can write NONFICTION, but is only willing to pay peanuts for said professional and reliable service. I'm sure he/she does not understand that reliable and professional ghostwriters would NEVER respond to an ad like that. Must be NATIVE or FLUENT in English. Again, not very many PROFESSIONAL, RELIABLE, NATIVE, FLUENT ENGLISH SPEAKING GHOSTWRITERS, I know, who can write NONFICTION would ever respond to an ad like that.
Karen, you're right, clients do need to be educated to understand that words take time. And the right words put together to form coherent sentences that come together and flow between the pages of a book, have value...great value. I try to stress this to clients who ask for discounts all the time - a grouchy underpaid writer/editor produces work that reflects their mood.

As a small business owner and mother to a toddler, absolutely, yes! This question made me smile, especially given that this is a holiday weekend and the "holiday" part looks blurry to me. The fact is we need to claim time off, otherwise, yes, work days become unending. Wishing you a restful weekend.

I keep my customer's list in my email contacts/address folder. I should probably switch them to a spreadsheet to separate clients from regular contacts but time is my enemy.

Thanks for this useful tip. I added the app to my Facebook page a few months ago and the results have been great.
