never read about it either.
what is the results you want from your marketing? Sales, leads,, build relationships?
I Dont get caught up chasing unicorns or shiny objects.
I Focus on direct response, and results. And test test test, make adjustments and always improve.
I study my markets and my perfect clients and lead with value that improves their life...
See how easy that is.. that's how it's done..
Because heres the thing...
All marketing is intrusive or permissive in the eye of the prospect. One message could be both to different people .
they will either think its intrusive if the copy isnt for them
OR
they will give it permission and read the next line, or take the next step if they agree and give you permission to have their attention.
Doesnt this make sense??
I like some of the other fancy answers ... but I'm a pretty simple
direct response copywriter....
easy is always best...
the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line.
help your prospect get what they want. Relieve a pain, help over come a challenge. Give them status or help them find love.
But keep it simple. Focus on getting specific results for your client..
After all...its about helping them improve their lives... not fancy words and theory...
