Alexander Party Rentals began in 1991 when Tom Alexander left the corporate tool rental world to start his own business in the Interbay area of Seattle. In its fledgling days, the company was a general "rent-all" center with a variety of consumer rental products from backyard tools to medical equipment; party goods made up only a fraction of the eclectic offering. Due to a downturn in the local fishing fleet, in 2005, the company's tool side was sold off and the business transitioned to a full event rental company. The company then moved to Tukwila to service a larger market. In 2014, Scott Alexander purchased Alexander Party Rentals from his father. With the generational change in ownership, the company grew rapidly, tripling in size in 5 years.
