Queer Keys was founded in 2022 to address a growing need for LGBTQ+ support, resources, and community throughout the Florida Keys.

What began as a grassroots effort has grown into the only LGBTQ+ community center serving Monroe County, providing programs, events, advocacy, education, queer library and direct support to queer and transgender individuals across the Keys. Through initiatives like TransConnect, youth programming, wellness program- which includes free massage therapy, free mental health therapy, breathwork classes, community gatherings, and partnerships with local organizations. Queer Keys is helping create a more connected, inclusive, and affirming community.

Built by community and for community, Queer Keys continues to grow with a commitment to supporting, educating, empowering, and celebrating LGBTQ+ people throughout the Florida Keys.

Founded in 2019, Queer Keys was created to address the lack of LGBTQI+ resources and community spaces in the Florida Keys. Starting with a weekly youth program, we have steadily expanded our services to support LGBTQI+ individuals of all ages through wellness programs, support groups, transgender support services, educational initiatives, and community events. Our journey began in borrowed and donated spaces, demonstrating our commitment to building community long before we had a permanent home.
