I can't stress enough that you need to understand who you're talking to. Get to know your customer, the way they talk, their values, what they're looking for and why they might want to do business with you. That first step will inform how you proceed with your keyword research, write the copy for your site, which social medium you're going to use (if you go that route) and even the images you're going to use for your site and marketing.
