It sounds time-consuming and tedious, but if you reconcile your financial statements once a month in a decent software program, it can be a money saver. It will also keep you up to date on exactly how your business is doing at any given time, what months are slower than others so you can plan ahead and know what categories of your income you might want to focus on to generate more revenue. I am not an accountant but by managing all of my office's incoming and outgoing finances, we have been able to increase our revenue by about 200% in the last three years.
