In the service industry, I believe that it's important to always reply to each client as soon as possible. Even if I am in the middle of a service call, there is always an opportunity to briefly acknowledge your clients inquiry. I reply with a simple message to insure them that I am always available. I may be tied up at the moment and unable to talk or immediately come to service their equipment, but should the situation arise that they have an emergency, I am available to help. I feel like if you prove yourself to be the person to get back to them within 24-hours then that is what they will expect of you. You will not be the number that they call when an emergency happens. In my industry, honest and reliable contractors are hard to find. I want to be the guy who comes to the rescue for you and your family if your heat should go out when its subzero temperatures and your normal service technician wont pick up the phone at 2AM. Those are the calls that customers share with their friends and families. That is what make my company stand out and get the best kind of customers, word of mouth customers, generated by referral business.

Ethics is huge in my industry. As a heating & air conditioning contractor, we install equipment that will be in your home for the next 15-20 years. I find it extremely important to provide my clients with quality work that they can depend on. The difference between me and the overwhelming... (more) Ethics is huge in my industry. As a heating & air conditioning contractor, we install equipment that will be in your home for the next 15-20 years. I find it extremely important to provide my clients with quality work that they can depend on. The difference between me and the overwhelming amount of unethical guys in the HVAC industry boils down to 3 things. TIME: How much time is delegated by the company to properly install or repair your equipment? I'm a straight shooter with everyone from the beginning. No, I am not the cheapest quote you will find and Yes, you will save money by going to a big box store. Too many of the large corporations hire the lowest bidder to work off of something called flat rate. This means that you may save money but they guys that are in your home are concerned with one thing, doing the work as fast as possible for as little as possible. The difference is that my guys will be here for however long it takes to install, test and tune your equipment to perform at its best. Of Course there have been situations where unforeseen circumstances arise. By no means will our ethics or morals be jeopardized by time constraints. This simply leads to a follow up visit. KNOWLEDGE: Education, Training and Experience are key factors in the becoming the recognized authority in your industry. Our respectful technicians proudly earn and display their scholastic achievements to provide comfort that we have their solution. Our comparative advantage over the big box stores or large corporations is that we only employ ethical technicians that find value in quality honest work done right the first time. Anyone can get a quick online certification and bid on jobs but will it be done correctly? It may be installed, but was it set up and tuned properly to get the performance and reliability that you paid for? HONESTY: This is only achieved when your employees are educated enough to be honest and have the time to perform the task at hand. Large corporations typically focus on the monetary value of each call. The more calls, the more money. It's not that the technicians at large corporations are unethical, they simply are not given ample time to properly do their job. On the other hand, the "lowest bidder" guys hired by big box stores typically do not have the experience or education required to do the job properly. This ends up costing you more money because the job wasn't done right the first time and now, due to a lack of education, a simple quick fix to get paid will be performed leading to yet another problem down the road. As a small business owner, I cannot afford to have "call-backs" due to unethical practices. I'm not looking to increase my volume by jeopardizing quality. I can honestly say that each job my company completes is done to the best ability of industry leading technicians that simply love what they do and care about our customers. In a nutshell, I always urge my team to strive for the best. The value of a few extra hours today could mean one more happy customer. One more happy customer leads to referral business and job security for each of us.
