My art makes me happy, especially when others like my art. too. It brings me great satisfaction and allows me to express myself in more ways than one.
I have always wanted to paint, but I never thought I could paint anything worth looking at, so I never picked up a brush and tried. Then, when I was 73, a couple of years ago, I found this lady on line that taught greeting card painting with a palette knife. Her name is Jennifer Vraines of Let's Dabble. I signed up for her course and was delighted with the results! I send out birthday cards to the members of my congregation here in Colorado. When I discovered I could paint cards, I started sending my own cards, and they were very well received. This encouraged me to branch out to canvas painting. At first I just put the greeting card subject on a canvas. Then I looked at some Bob Ross videos and painted with him. These also were very encouraging. Now I do greeting cards, canvas paintings, and some work with leaves and flowers in resin. Who knows where my creative streak will take me next!!
