About Us

The Permission Ceiling™ | Where Identity Becomes Authority

You did not build a business. You built an extension of yourself. That is your greatest strength and the source of your most invisible limitation.

When the business struggles, you do not read it as a setback. You read it as evidence about who you are. When it succeeds, the relief lasts about forty-eight hours before the next pressure system moves in. The ambition never quiets. The permission to fully inhabit it never quite arrives.

That is not a strategy problem. That is a ceiling.

The Permission Ceiling™ exists because most founders are operating beneath one they cannot see from where they are standing. It is not installed by the market or the competition. It is installed by unexamined identity. By the version of yourself you decided you were allowed to be long before this business existed.

The Ambition to Authority Architecture™ is the framework built to dismantle it. It begins with a forensic examination of the thread running through everything you have already built: your patterns across time, the capability you have been expressing and the capability you have been withholding, the founder you perform under pressure and the founder you actually are when no one is measuring your response.

Founders who complete this work do not walk away with a stronger toolkit. They walk away knowing, with irrefutable documented clarity, who they actually are. The ceiling does not move. It dissolves.

This practice was founded by Donna J. Spina, PCC, Forensic Leadership Navigator, with more than two decades working alongside founders and senior executives. She has scaled businesses to seven figures. She has rebuilt from the ground up more than once. She does not guide clients through territory she has only studied. She guides them through territory she has crossed.

The Permission Ceiling™ carries the legal foundation and earned credibility of Coaching InDeed Inc., established in 2012. That practice spent more than a decade working with executives and founders who were accomplished, capable, and quietly stuck. The same pattern appeared beneath every engagement: a leader who had unconsciously decided what they were permitted to build, ask for, earn, or become. The name changed because the work finally has the language it always deserved.

Clients have described the shift as the first time a business conversation also told them the truth about themselves.

If your ambition still feels like a burden rather than a north star, one conversation will tell you whether this work is what you have been looking for.

Reach out here to start that conversation.

How We Got Started

I did not find my way into this work just through a curriculum or a certification.

My husband and I built a business together from the ground up and scaled it to seven figures. I know the pride of it, the pressure of it, and the quiet cost of it that nobody talks about at the pitch table.

Then life asked me to rebuild. More than once. What I discovered in that process became the foundation of every conversation I now have with the founders who come to me.

I founded Coaching InDeed Inc. in 2012. In 2026, that work became The Permission Ceiling™.

The ceiling most founders keep bumping into is not a market problem. It is an identity gap. The distance between who they actually are and who they have been performing to be credible, investable, or followed.

Through my Ambition to Authority™ Framework, I return to founders the irrefutable, documented evidence of who they already are. Something shifts. Not incrementally. Fundamentally.

I bring everything I have to this work. Every time.

On your invoice, state either a late fee or lawful interest will be charged on any outstanding balances over 30 days. Then charge it! Have someone other than yourself call late payers after that due date. It will drive home the point you are serious and the matter could go to a collections agency or future service could be denied. Lastly, look at yourself.  How comfortable are you with having those conversations with your late payers? Good luck!

You are "engaged to work" when you depart directly to your customer's destination.  Some clients prefer that type of flat rate for budget reasons. Any other incidental charges as they relate to the work/project are also billable.  You may want to consider two different structures and have the client pick which suits them best.  They "buy in" at that point.

I am not a fan of laying people off.  Look at your hiring methods.  Do you have "hiring remorse" once realize the new person is not a good fit for the job or company? If you have a revolving door with employees, your business unemployment rate increases for at least three years AND your hiring process structure probably needs to be reviewed. Are your people happy in their work environment?  If you do not establish a Culture one will happen for you and it may not be conducive for productivity. Another example is  insurances or office supplies.  Maybe you buy a lot of paper. Can you do more electronically? Shop other insurance carriers or learn how to better manage your risks to get discounts. Hope these suggestion help!

If the group is your IDEAL audience, then any Entrepreneur/Business Owner will create the time to attend that specific event since it is time efficient vs. time interference. For instance, part of my consulting business is composed of building related contractors or real estate investors. When a Residential Home Show pops up, I make sure my week day or weekend day is cleared to invest the time due to the potential of returns. Hope that helps!
